The only problem, if you find very big single map in mappack, that may be too laggy due to 3000 enemies on single map (still doable to the game), but once PB shred them all into 3000x10000 gut fragments, the game may be unplayable even on very strong PC. Mostly any mappack with not too overwhelmy big map could work fine, only depends on balance, that sometimes higher difficulty levels can be too hard, also most of custom map packs gonna be easier than original campaigns.

![]() ![]() ![]() This strategy really works when fighting Swadians since they also tend to have mid-high leveled troops. Personally, I have a "bank" of troops, like 400 who I have training in one castle in the center of my empire so if I need troops I can just head there and get mid-level troops immediately and I dont have to waste money on mercenaries. But this probably has something to do with the fact that the Sarranids, Khergits, Swadians, and Vaegirs were all in a long war with each other and it just ended. Very rarely do you get a very large force besieging your holdings, at least not in Native or Floris and definitely not after a long war. ![]() I find that a garrison of 175 is plenty for defending a castle. While it's an absolutely fantastic mode, three maps is nowhere near enough. ![]() Either way, there aren't enough good maps to keep things interesting for long. I think something might be off with map rotation as well, or people are just map-voting for the same maps.
